There's no more denying it, fall is here! I absolutely love the changing of the seasons, fall is by far one of my favorites. After a long hot summer it's time for some hair rehab and maintenance. I'm super excited about what this seasons haircuts have in store for us. Things are getting slightly revamped so keep an open mind about your length and trying something new!
This season is all about the bobs and bangs! If you want to switch up your look without the commitment of cutting off your length a bang can completely transform your style. Right now there are two ways to go, baby bangs or curtain bangs. Both of these can be tweaked to fit your specific style and hair type.
The baby bang, also called micro fringe, is a bold statement and can be paired with all hair lengths. It can be worn bold and blunt, cut straight across with no texture. Choppy, mixing longer pieces in with the short fringe to give dimension. Soft and wispy, cut first with the shears then dried and razor cut on the ends. Micro fringe can be both delicate and badass at the same time, the beauty of this look is it's versatility.
We are taking a step back into the 60's with the Brigette Bardot curtain bang. This is an incredibly wearable look because it can be pulled forward to frame your face, bringing the attention to your eyes and cheekbones. Parted down the middle and swept to the sides to open up the face, or just flying wherever they fall. It's the perfect lazy bang to go along with the tousled, natural style of the season.
If you have looked around lately, you're well aware of how popular the bob haircut is right now. From chin length to shoulder length, from angled to asymmetrical! This new bob will be cut with clean, blunt lines, rather than wispy and piecey. It can be custom cut for your hair type and lifestyle. Starting with the chin length bob, think 1920's flapper, this length is great when worn with a baby bang. If that’s too short for you try below the chin to just above the shoulder. With these cuts you will see more wavy and free texture styles, to glassy hair, parted down the middle, super smooth, super shiny, with edges sharp like glass! The bob has a shape that is universally flattering and the versatility of this cut makes it a classic that will never go out of style.
So whether you decide to take a chance and go through with a micro bang, or cut off some length for a bob that transcends generations, don’t be afraid to try something new. It may be just what you and your hair need after a long sun filled summer!
