Helping women understand their hair is just as important to me as creating beautiful results behind the chair. That's exactly why I created The Jolene Edit.

This blog is where the conversations we start in the salon continue after your appointment ends. Whether you're chasing healthier curls, cleaner more natural hair color, or answers to questions you've had for years, you'll find practical, science-backed education you can actually use.

Why I Started This Blog

After nearly two decades behind the chair, I've learned something important, beautiful hair isn't created in a single appointment. It's created in the weeks between appointments, through the products you choose, the techniques you practice at home, and the small everyday decisions that either support your hair or quietly sabotage it.

As a curly hair specialist in Grand Rapids, I answer a lot of the same questions every week:
